Louie Simmons Death Explored
Powerlifting Louie Simmons has been confirmed dead at the age of 74.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Louie Simmons.” Westside Barbell said in a statement.
“We will make a formal announcement after we process the loss.”
Simmons is the owner and creator of Westside Barbell, a top powerlifting facility in Columbus, Ohio.
After becoming serious about training in his early 20s, he was regarded as one of the top strength coaches in the world.
He has taught great powerlifters Chuck Vogelphul, Jim Wendler, and David Tate during his career.
He has been competing in powerlifting for almost 50 years and has records for the 920-pound squat, 600-pound bench press, and 722-pound deadlift.
Louie Simmons cause of death has not been revealed at this time.
