Brendan Evans: Florida man who stabbed ‘Ollie the pit bull’ in suitcase sentenced
A Florida man accused of torturing Ollie the pit bull, stabbing it 50 times, and packing it into a suitcase while the dog was still alive will serve 10 years in jail, according to his defense lawyer.
Brendan Evans, 35, of Hollywood agreed to plead guilty four years after the attack on Ollie the pit bull, according to his lawyer, Michael Gottlieb. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
Ollie died two days after being discovered.
Investigators discovered cat paws and rats with decapitated heads in Evans’ freezer, bloodstains in his bathroom, and dried blood and animal fur in his oven, according to the newspaper.
Evans has been jailed for the past four years. According to Gottlieb, he was originally charged with 17 counts of animal cruelty, but prosecutors reduced 15 in exchange for his guilty plea.
