Bryndon Smith: Man shoots ‘girlfriend’ in car in Cordova
A man Bryndon Smith has been charged with murder after a woman was shot and killed inside a car in Cordova.
The incident happened on Jan. 2 just before 1 p.m. in the 8100 block of Walnut Grove. Fox13memphis reported.
According to an affidavit, a caller stated that a car had collided with a pole. Police then discovered a woman had been shot inside the vehicle.
She was taken in a private vehicle to Baptist East, where she was pronounced dead, according to authorities.
A man at the scene identified himself as Bryndon Smith.
According to the affidavit, Smith claimed he shot the woman by accident after an argument.
Smith admitted to authorities that he and the woman had been dating for two years. He claimed they were arguing in her car when he pulled out a gun and shot her accidently, according to authorities.
Smith was arrested and charged with first-degree murder at 201 Poplar.
