Man, Justin Soriano, arrested for shooting pregnant Ex after baby shower
Police have arrested Justin Soriano after a deadly shooting of a pregnant woman, Shanice Young, in Harlem.
Justin Soriano, the woman’s ex-boyfriend, was led out of the 23rd Precinct stationhouse in handcuffs late Thursday afternoon. He was arrested in the Bronx on Thursday morning.
He’s accused of fatally shooting 31-year-old Shanice Young early Sunday morning on West 128th Street.
Young was attempting to break up a quarrel between her ex and a man she was presently dating when bullets were fired. reports said.
Her unborn baby did not survive. CBSlocal reported.
“Our hope here is that this apprehension begins the process of closure for the family and, just as importantly, for the community for this terrible, terrible crime,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said.
Soriano has been charged with murder in the second degree. It’s unclear whether Young was his intended victim.
