Man wanted after putting fire in Hobart pet store
A man is wanted for setting fire in a pet store and stealing a puppy late last month. Hobart police said.
Security video from the 1700-block of East 83rd Avenue on Oct. 26 shows a guy entering into a cubicle at 4:30 p.m. to play with dogs, according to investigators.
He then runs out with a black French bulldog beagle mix puppy after throwing liquid on the floor from what looks to be a water bottle and burning it, starting a fire. Abc7chicago reported.
According to an employee, he left in a gray vehicle with an Illinois license plate. The front driver’s side hubcap and the front bumper were missing, according to the worker.
An employee at the pet store was able to put out the fire.
