SORTEDfood: What happened to James Currie Sorted?
SORTEDfood’s sassiest chef and Sia impersonator, James Currie has left the cooking group for a new job.
SORTEDfood is a YouTube channel that was founded on March 10, 2010 and has grown to draw such a big following that Google classified it as “one of the world’s largest food and culinary communities” in January 2019.
Benjamin ‘Ben’ Ebbrell, Michael ‘Mike’ Huttlestone, Jamie Spafford, and Barry Taylor, all from Hertfordshire, founded the British YouTube cooking channel and food website.
James Currie, a culinary school classmate of Ebbrell’s, joined the crew in 2014 as a developmental chef and later as an on-camera personality.
What happened to James Currie Sorted?
In May 2021, the SORTEDfood team announced that Currie James was leaving to take a new job.
“After some truly weird and wonderful years as SORTEDfood’s sassiest chef and Sia impersonator, James is off to a new job! We know we’re going to miss him lots, and so will you.” Sortedfood wrote on Instagram.
The YouTube channel now has over 2.4 million members. As of April 12th, 2020, it had over half a billion video views.
Sorted Food has over 256,000 Instagram followers and 276,000 Facebook followers, making it a social media powerhouse.
Why James Currie Left SORTEDfood
In a youtube video, James said he plans to develop himself, learn, and work with new people.
“I have been here 9 years, its a long time” He added.
James said he is going to be working underneath someone else and he is going to be managed by a head chef.
“I will be back if you guys will have me,” He added.
