Kentucky sheriff, Kevin Corman, arrested and charged with DUI
A Kentucky sheriff has been charged with driving under the influence.
Kevin Corman, the Sheriff of Jessamine County, was detained early Friday while driving a white SUV with official plates.
The Herald-Leader stated that police were notified about an erratic motorist near East Jessamine County High School.
The SUV was pulled over by Nicholasville Police after crossing the center line twice. According to authorities, Corman was driving his official sheriff’s car at the time.
Corman was unstable on his feet and smelled of alcohol, according to the citation.
Corman failed a field sobriety test and submitted to a preliminary blood-alcohol breath test, which resulted in a reading of.136. Corman stated that a cup discovered in his truck contained bourbon.
Corman, according to Lt. Anthony Purcell of the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office, has no plans to resign.
“He’s an elected official,” Purcell said. “He’s elected by the citizens of Jessamine County. He’s still the sheriff.”
